Make money with home parties. This is not a new concept. Tupperware introduced it in the early fifties, but somehow it never caught on. However, there is a new interest in this concept in the US today. Direct marketing companies that consider home parties a good way to hawk their products are the ones who are fanning the interest. Mary Kay, Pampered Chef, Stampin’ Up, Party Lite are just a few of the many home party opportunities available to start.

Target market

There is talk that the business if promoted properly can become as big as mail catalogs or Internet selling. The direct-selling industry with sales of $30 billion is certainly excited. It is rolling our plans for housewives to make money with home parties. The industry believes that it can motivate most of its direct selling work force to adopt selling at home parties as a key way of promoting sales.

Investment

There is little or no investment for those who want to make money with home parties. All that they need to do is to become a member of direct selling companies, obtain the products and make a sales pitch during the party. Of course, they have to be careful. They will stop getting guests if they are too blatant with their sales pitch. Since the party is being hosted at home there are no overheads like office rentals, equipment, transport costs etc.

Earnings

The earnings with having home parties depends upon the individuals’ drive. There are many who will freeze at the idea of selling a product to a friend. But there are others who would invite their friend into looking at the product during the course of a discussion. These are the ones who can make money with home parties. They can make everything look so natural. Their friends would never realize the purpose of the party. They will go home believing that they made a good transaction. Their friend would make a neat 50 percent commission on every product that is sold.

omes in is when you start recruiting others to sell the products as well. You make money for your sales, and get a commissions on all the sales made by people you have recruited. Most companies offer lots of bonuses as well for meeting certain sales levels.

Promotion

There is no need to print flyers or place advertisements in local newspapers or in yellow pages to promote your home party business. You also don’t need to do any word-of-mouth publicity or seek referrals. All that you need to do is to invite your friends to the party. You can increase your customer base by inviting acquaintances or people you have met once or twice during the course of business or official work. Of course, you have to work out how many parties you can host every month, and the volume of sales that results from each party. Parties that lead to poor sales can affect your finances badly.

If conducted properly, your home party business has considerable potential to grow. It can also bring in good money. The merchant only needs to be patient. The best merchants are those who start small. They take the full advantage of the business model without investing heavily or running the risk of losing money.
