Okay, you have signed up in a company. Your sponsor has told you to “make your list”. Maybe he told you to put stars next to 10 of those names as your first contacts. If your sponsor is good, he may give you a checklist of things to accomplish within the first few days of your business. He will probably ask you how many hours per week you plan on spending on the business. He may even give you ads to use that have been known to work.

Sounds like a plan, right?

But then you have asked your friends before and they shrug their shoulders and say “good luck”. Maybe one or two took a little more serious look, but had questions you tried to answer. You told your sponsor you could work 5-10 hours a week on your business.

WAIT!

You told him 5-10 hours! That’s an hour or more a day! What are you going to do for a whole hour every day for this business?! You put some ads in the paper, and people respond. You call them only to get busy signals and responses like “I didn’t ask for this information”.

Then the next step is to buy leads from a trusted source and your sponsor even give you a script to use. He tells you to practice on your script and then make some calls. “Don’t worry” he says, “it’ll get easier as you get better”.

Sound familiar?

I got pretty angry with one sponsor who kept telling me to buy leads and make calls. I told him it wasn’t working. He said it was a numbers game. I told him it really wasn’t working.

Then I got on the net and started looking for better ways to do this business. I found two.

Myron will ask you to write the numbers 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 down a page. At #10, write “EF Hutton”. Next to that name, put “Leader”. At #1, write “Charlie Brown”. Charlie Brown is such a loser his own dog doesn’t listen to him.

Now, where on that chart are you?what is your plan to improve that status?

Daegan is the king of never calling a lead. This is his plan in summary:

Get yourself into a company that already has a perfect marketing system. That will save you hours of pain and agony. Here is what a perfect marketing system has: (I have added a few details not from Daegan’s product)

• Lead Capture Page
• Free Report or Newsletter to entice a lead to leave their information.
• Compelling sales letter
• Generic product that is not related to your main business. This is your front end sales that pays you to get leads.
• Follow up Autoresponder with messages 2 or 3 days apart.
• Back end sales you can promote to your growing list.

If you don’t have a system even remotely similar to this, you are spinning your wheels.

I will say that again:

In order to build a plan, we have to know where we are going. The above system is where you want to be. Period.

How do you get there? You are going to have to spend some time and yes, money.

Each component of this system is important, down to the details like what kind of text you should use for your headlines on sales pages.

Do your own search for making money on line at Google. Go to some of the links. You will find fully functional lead capture pages, get a few free gifts and see some great sales copy. Save those files and even write out the sales lett!

and to really make it part of you.

By examining what others are doing, you can emulate them. And there should be no reason that your own sales page should not beat them in page rankings in the near future.
