Where To Find Product To Sell On eBay
(presented by www.data-entry-jobs.net - data entry jobs)
There is just something about waking up in the morning, turning on your computer and finding out that you just made several hundred dollars overnight while you slept. That never happened to me in a real job.
That’s why 1.3 million people now make a full- or part-time living selling on eBay to the more than 212 million registered users.
As an instructor for eBay University all around the country as well as in my own eBay classes I teach, the number one question I get asked is: Where can I find even more products to sell?
The obvious answers are:
• Garage sales
• Flea markets
• Estate sales
• Live auctions
But here are 13 other not-so-obvious sources you may want to investigate.
1) The first is eBay itself (reseller.ebay.com). The Reseller Marketplace by eBay is a liquidation site where eBay PowerSellers can acquire inventory for resale.
Through the Reseller Marketplace, PowerSellers can buy excess inventory in discounted lot sizes directly from manufacturers, liquidators, and wholesalers. Any eBay PowerSeller may access the site at no cost as a benefit of the eBay PowerSeller program. A similar eBay site to check out where any seller can buy in bulk to resell is Wholesale Lots www.ebay.com/wholesale
2) The second is Liquidation.com (www.liquidation.com). In the past three fiscal years, Liquidity Services Inc. has conducted 581,000 online transactions generating approximately $391 million in gross merchandise value.
3) A third is Overstock.com (www.overstock.com). Overstock.com has partnerships with many leading brand-name companies. Because of these relationships, they are able to buy products at significant discounts. Some examples of how they do this are: overproduced products, cancelled order or company-specific issues such as company downsizing, moving facilities or just needing to reduce inventory for any number of reasons.
4) A fourth is TDW Closeouts (www.tdwcloseouts.com). As their Web site says: Need Merchandise for your eBay Business? We are the Premier Supplier of Closeout Merchandise Lots to eBay Power Sellers for resale on eBay!
5) A fifth is Government Liquidation (www.govliquidation.com). A direct source for U.S. military surplus. Their vast inventory spans over 500 government surplus categories including: military vehicles, military apparel, navy boats, scrap metal, surplus machinery and much more. If you have been searching for authentic U.S. military surplus, army surplus or navy surplus, look no more!
6) A sixth is GoWholesale (www.gowholesale.com). Thousands of wholesale buyers from businesses such as traditional retailers, retail chains, discount stores, wholesalers, e-tailers, eBay PowerSellers, and dollar stores use goWholesale and its search network for wholesale goods and business services. goWholesale makes finding great deals on wholesale products convenient, efficient and profitable.
7) A seventh is Luxury Brands (www.luxurybrandsllc.com). They stock authentic, high-end luxury branded surplus merchandise.
8) An eighth is Andale Suppliers (www.anadale.com). Which connects those searching for merchandise with those who sell it! How does Andale Suppliers work? When you sell on eBay, finding suppliers (someone supplying merchandise) can be a challenge. Using Andale Suppliers, seekers (someone looking for merchandise to sell on eBay) can connect with suppliers and visa versa.
9) A ninth is LiquiBiz.com (www.liquibiz.com) – the European source for business surplus.
10) And tenth, to search for a distributor, check out the directory provided by Wholesale411 (www.wholesale411.com).
11) You might find dropshipping to be a convenient option for you. That’s where a third party holds the goods for you. You advertise, take orders and the dropshipper sends the items directly to your customer for you.
The downside is that many dropshippers are scam artists. But here is a dropshipper that you can actually trust. Rob Cowie and the other officers of this company both speak and exhibit at the annual eBay Live! convention. Worldwide Brands (www.worldwidebrands.com) provides a Drop Ship Source Directory in which you can find wholesalers that are carefully screened by the company that will dropship thousands of products.
12) Another option for you is trade shows. I attended what is billed as the world’s largest wholesale trade show. Over 8,000 vendors in four convention centers in Las Vegas display their wares. The beauty is that you can go to the trade show without a preconceived idea as to what you want to sell, to talk with these vendors at the show directly, face-to-face. You can see how the attendees are reacting to their offerings. And you don’t need to buy in large lots. I purchased and reordered jewelry I found there from a vendor in lots of just 25. For more information, go to www.merchandisegroup.com.
And for a list of other upcoming trade shows, check out www.greatrep.com or www.TSNN.com.
13) A final option is to get in on government auctions of seized goods at USTreas.gov/auctions/customs.
One of my favorite stories about obtaining merchandise comes from Joseph T. Sinclair. In his book, eBay Business the Smart Way, he says:
“I talked with an eBay retailer who bought 3,000 heart rate monitors (for athletes) in Taiwan in a closeout and then imported them. I asked him, ‘Wasn’t that a huge number of monitors?’ He said, ‘yes’ but admitted, ‘If I didn’t buy the entire closeout, some other eBay retailer would buy the remainder. And I didn’t want the competition on eBay.’”
